If I was the teacher for my Yr 5 class…

Hi Everybody,

Now, you probably must be wondering about this sentence, but for our home work we had to answer these questions for the Yr 4’s that will be going into Yr 5 next year!

Here are the questions.

So, if you were the teacher what would you change?
What would you add and what would you take away?
What did you enjoy and what did you dislike?
What should you have had more of and what less of?

So here are my answers to these interesting questions,

So, if you were the teacher what would you change?
Well, Yr 5 has been so great, but if I was the teacher, I would allow us to take our Netbooks (small laptops), home 3 times a week to finish homework from school, because it is hard to save once we access it. I would also change desk arrangements. I would allow us to change every 2 weeks and have 2 systems that we change around. The first system is, sit with 1 friend, and 2 girls who you don’t play with all the time in the playground, and sit with 2 girls in one house colour, 2 in the other, and two in the other, then 2 in the other house colour.

What would you add and what would you take away?

In Yr 5, we have many fun subjects, but if I was to add more of one it would be drama or fun school projects. I really enjoy drama, but we hardly get to do it, because we only have it once every two weeks, but don’t have time to do that subject, so I would add another lesson, in a time when it was available for us to do. I would choose to do plays or skit, drama warm ups and games. Plus, it would give the other girls a chance to express themselves through moves and acting.

The choice on school projects sound weird, I mean, more work? Wow! Don’t we get enough? I don’t think so. At the moment, my class is learning about ‘Rocks and Minerals’ in Science. If I were the teacher, I would give out a school project where we could choose a rock from the garden and research about it to see what type of rock it is, and then present our work on a poster, and of course we would do it at school, because it would be easier for the girls if they needed help, as teachers do know everything! Also, school projects can be big or little ones, a little to research, or a lot to research. It could vary as we went through the year!

If I was to take away anything, if I was to take away, ANYTHING? Well, no doubt it would be math (kidding!)!! Maths is compulsory, which means you have to do it at school. But I’m happy to do maths, it’s good to learn about circles and multiplication and adding roman numerals and finding the average of 4, 6 and 2 (which by the way is 4)! Anyway, back to the topic, I wouldn’t really eliminate any subjects!

What did you enjoy and what did you dislike?

Of course, this year, everything has been a joy, like Camp and learning new things and developing new skills and performing the musical we worked on this term, but I cannot pick one thing! So, the list I just well.. listed, has been some of the enjoyable things, but there are heaps of others like, working on our Antarctica unit for HSIE, doing Novel Study, Leadership day, Biggest Morning Lunch (sounds weird right?) and the excursions to different places.

I didn’t dislike anything this year, except for NAPLAN. That was annoying! NAPLAN is this test thing you do. ou do 4 tests. An English test, a spelling test, a maths test and a writing test. But, after the tests we had a making memories day!

What should you have had more of and what less of?

As I said before, I would really like more time for drama, because we hardly get to do it in class. I also think we should have double lessons of maths, so we can have some other days not doing it, like one each week.

Now that I’ve finished telling you all about what I would do, it’s now your turn.

So, if you were the teacher what would you change?
What would you add and what would you take away?
What did you enjoy and what did you dislike?

Let your Creativity Show!

Hi Everybody,

For The Student Blogging Challenge, I did a challenge where you had to choose from following activities and play them! I decided to let my creativity show when making Sand Art, Composing Music and playing a Science Tower Game!

I will explain all about the activities I did,

When I made Sand Art, I created a masterpiece, if I do say so myself! I really enjoyed doing it, because it is fun to make combiner colours. Because this was my first time on this website, my artwork wasn’t as spectacular as others, but it was fun, and a creative site.

Composing Music was fun too, I made a piece of music, that I would put to a song if I could. I enjoyed playing around with notes to make tunes and tunes. It was a creative and imaginitive way to compose the music I wanted to make.

I liked the game, Making Towers. I needed to make towers out of Gum Aliens! There were other level where I need to make these towers out of wheels and wheel them up hills! You need to reach a line that was high up, then it needed to stay up for 5 seconds. I found this game challenging and fun!

These are the games and my creative San Art! Sorry that the music didn’t work!

Camp at Bathurst! But Unexpected Twist The Day After…

Hi Everybody,

Sorry I haven’t been posting, I’ve been very busy! This week, I went to Bathurst for a Year 5 camp. We went to the Bathurst Goldfields because we have been learning about Gold and what the time of the goldrush was like. It was a very fun Camp, and I learnt a lot of information about the Goldfields that I didn’t know about before!

Let me explain what we did.

The bus left at 7:00am on Monday the 24th with all of us in it. We travelled for 2 hours or so to the Blue Mountains, for Morning Tea. We all sat on the grass where we got attacked by strange humongous flies! They were really big and scary, and they flew everywhere! After our Morning Tea, we walked over to the 3 Sisters to look at it. We looked from the balcony thing at the amazing view, and it was amazing.

Once we left the view, we hopped back into the bus for another hour or so, and then we arrived at the Jenolan Caves. We had lunch there, and then had a tour through Lucas Cave. It was really amazing to sea all the crystals and rocks and it was the frst time ever for me going there! I really enjoyed the cave, and I would like to go back there again!

When the tour was over, we got driven to the Bathurst Goldfields. We were so excited to finally arrive there. At 5:30pm! We got told our cabins, and then had dinner there.

That night, we did bush dancing and singing, and it was really fun! We sung and danced all night and had the best time. My favourite dance was the heel and toe. And my favourite song was Waltzing Matilda.

In the morning, we had breakfast, and then got ready for a big day of Fun! All day, we learnt abou what it was like to be a digger on the Goldfields. We played games, made damper and put up tents. We also went on a tour that afternoon and had a sausage sizzle for lunch.

I had fun at Bathurst, and was upset to leave. It is definitely a camp I wil never forget!

When I got home from camp that night, I didn’t feel very well, I had a bit of dinner and no dessert. I had a tummy ache all that night, and when I woke up the next day, I felt… SICK! I had a very bad throat and my tummy grubbled wildly! I stayed at home that day, and now today I am still SICK! I will go to school tomorrow though, so I don’t need to worry!

Well, Better Skidaddle!

My Holidays Part 2!

Hi Everybody!

It’s Caz Here! Sorry I haven’t been on my blog lately! I have been Super Duper busy! This week, I was in New Zealand for the 2011 Rugby World Cup Quarter Finals. My dad and sister, Eliza, went to 2 games. Ireland VS Wales (Wales Won!), and South Africa VS Australia (We Won)!

We stayed with our friends house up in Wellington, and may I tell you, Wellington is freezing! While in Wellington we wore layers and layers of clothing!

We also went out a lot to the city. My sister went out Ice-Skating with Laura, her friend, and some other girls. It was really fun and Great to go there!

One of my favourite things about New Zealand was going up to a place called ‘Peka Peka.’ I’m not really sure if that is how you spell it though! Our Friends’, Ann-Louise, Campbell and their 2 daughters Alexandra and Laura’s Grandma and Grandpa live there, so we went to have lunch with them! It was a really nice, sunny, hot day, that we nearly went swimming! The bad news was that we forgot our swimming gear!

Well Guys,

That is what I did on my Holidays!

Bye For Now,

Caz

My Holidays Part 1!

Hi Everybody,

Sorry I haven’t been blogging for a while! It’s just that I have been so busy having fun on my school Holidays! We have 2 weeks of school holidays this term, and the first week has been great!

Let me fill you In on what I have been doing:

Springfest Kids- Springfest Kids is a shcool holiday program run by my church. It is held at a school near our church. At Springfest Kids, we play games, learn about God and Jesus and make crafts and do lots of other fun things! This year, Springfest Kids theme was, ‘Life with Jesus.’ We had a word of the day each day, and we learnt what the word meant in Life with Jesus. Monday was Forgiveness, Tuesday was Love, Wednesday was Joy, Thursday was Different and Friday was Forever! I really liked Springfest a lot and I was so sad that it ended!

Cycling- Today (Saturday) I went cycling. I really enjoyed going with my sister, Eliza and my Dad. It was really fun, apart from when I ran into my Dad and fell off in the middle of the track! I am okay, but now I know to not wiggle on my Bicycle!

New Zealand- Next week (Wednesday), I am going with my family to New Zealand! I am so excited because this is the second time we are going. We are going to stay with our friends who live in Wellington. I am super duper excited and I will fill you all in with more information when I get there!

I really want to know what all of you have been doing, so, please tell all about what you have been doing!

Have you been anywhere?

What has been your favourite thing you have done?

My Avatar!

Hi Everbody,

It’s Caz here!

I have created a new avatar and would like to show you all it. My Avatar has a lot of similar qualities to me.  The background is of Sydney Harbour because I live in Sydney, Australia. I chose a pink dress and thongs because I waer dresses a lot and because right now in Spring, it is hot. I chose a brow ponytail because my hair is brown and I wear my hair up. Lastly, I chose a microphone and Treble Clef earrings to symbolize that I love music!

Under is a picture of my Avatar!
